Course description

This certified intensive course to prepare for the specialist medical language examination is aimed at international physicians seeking to obtain a license to practice medicine in Germany.

The course specifically prepares for the specialist medical language examination of the German Medical Associations and for the telc German C1 Medicine certificate.

The course focuses on the linguistic and communication skills that physicians need for successful careers in the German healthcare system.

A special emphasis is placed on oral communication, as the daily work of a physician in Germany requires intensive discussions with patients, colleagues in interdisciplinary teams, and documentation.

Funding is possible through a training voucher from the Federal Employment Agency

13 weeks
20 teaching hours per week plus self-study
260 hours total
Online course, flexible with weekly modules
Scenario-based learning with a focus on patient language, specific terminology, and documentation
Classes are held in the evenings during the week, starting at 5 p.m.
The video conference takes place on our learning platform.
Includes learning materials and a book from Springer Verlag.

Requirements FSP Medicine

In order to participate in the specialist language course, the following requirements must be met:

Completed medical studies abroad
Application for a license to practice medicine in Germany submitted or planned
German language level B2 (certificate from telc, Goethe-Institut, ÖSD, or equivalent)
Technical requirements for online instruction
Stable internet access, laptop or PC with camera and microphone
Time to learn
